Theres a small grove of regular pines in Western Pomerania, Poland, which became famous for one small twist, all 400 trees located there have a strange bend at the bottom!
The stand of trees was planted around 1930 in Germany. After the trees have left the ground, the trees all begin to turn sharply 90 degrees before returning to a vertical position with an elegant curve. Their strange, but beautiful nature is beautifully fixed in the photographs below Kilian Schonberger, about which we wrote earlier.
No one is sure how or why the trees were bent, but most believe it was a deliberate, mechanical process. Trees can be manipulated to create naturally curved parts for, beaots, furniture or other applications. Others theorized that a heavy snowfall could cause a curious phenomenon.
